After taking the red eye from LA to Miami and arriving at 7 am in the morning, I headed straight to Crandon Park, in an attempt to fight off the fatigue that was inevitably going to take over my day. It was all happening on Key Biscane and the new colours of sponsors Itau made the tired Crandon Park complex look almost new. I always stay with very old and dear friends in Miami, so it is one of my favourite tournaments, because it is such fun, on court and off. This year was no exception! Miami always claims to be the fifth Grand Slam and this year’s tournament certainly lived up to that claim. There were outstanding fields for both the mens and women’s trophies and apart from a few dull days in the middle of the tournament, it was hot and humid every day, with lots of awesome sunsets and beautiful late afternoon light.

Ray and I arrived in Miami on Saturday and despite the overcast conditions, the temperature is in the mid twenties and it is looking like it is going to be a scorching tournament. Yesterday saw Andy Murray and David Ferrer practicing on Grandstand and they were having a real slugfest. Today is the second day of qualifying and the women’s first round. As well as that there are practice sessions galore, with Nadal, Federer, Murray and most of the other top 10 male and female players on court. We will be covering the day including matches, practice and some of the kids day activities. Check out the site as often as you can to see all the latest action from Miami and to see our coverage of other tournaments so far this year. There are still more to go up onto the site, so keep looking.

A Unique Proposition In Tennis Photography

I knew that we would set up the Tennis Photo Network in 2012, when we had enjoyed a tremendous week at the Olympics shooting the tennis at The All England Club in Wimbledon.  That was the week we started to discuss the idea seriously and we knew we had a great plan that was going to become increasingly relevant as media ownership moved from the traditional media owners into the hands of the brand owners, tournament organisers and sponsors. The writing was on the wall (tablet, laptop and social media) that the world we knew was changing and the need for photos would grow and the way they are used would change. We also knew that our single sport specialisation would put us in a very strong position on the global tennis stage.
